FARIDABAD NEWS 14 JULY 2026 : GAUTAM : The Department of Electronics Engineering and the Community College of Skill Development (CCSD) at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, today inaugurated a new UAV and Anti-Drone Technology Lab, alongside the launch of a 20-day specialised training programme on UAV and Tethered Drone Technology, to be conducted in two phases — the first 10 days dedicated to drone training and the subsequent 10 days to anti-drone training.

Extending appreciation to the initiative, Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar described the lab as a significant step toward equipping the university's students and researchers with futuristic, industry-relevant capabilities in emerging defence and security technologies.

The event was attended by Prof. Ajay Ranga, Registrar, who was also the Chief Guest; Prof. Atul Mishra, Dean, Academic Affairs; Prof. Munish Vashishth, Dean, Institutions and Chairperson, Department of Electronics Engineering; Prof. Anuradha Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Sciences; Prof. Rajesh Kumar Ahuja, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Prof. Raj Kumar, Department of Mechanical Engineering; Prof. Hari Om, Chairperson, Department of Mechanical Engineering; Prof. Pardeep Dimri, Dean, Students Welfare; Prof. Divya Jyoti, Chairperson, Department of Languages and Literature; and Prof. Pawan Singh, Chairperson, Department of Communication & Media Technology.

In his address, Prof. Sanjeev Goyal, Principal, Community College of Skill Development, gave an overview of the lab's facilities and outlined the structure and objectives of the training programme.

Prof. Rajesh Ahuja, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, encouraged participants to make full use of the training, emphasising the growing relevance of drone and anti-drone technologies across sectors such as defence, agriculture, and disaster management.

Delivering the Chief Guest's address, Prof. Ajay Ranga termed the lab a landmark initiative of the university, stating that the dual focus on drone and anti-drone technologies would open new avenues for students and researchers. He also emphasised the lab's potential to generate revenue for the university through funded projects and industry collaboration.

The event also saw participation from industry partners DTown Robotics Pvt. Ltd. and Elcom Innovations, represented by Mr. Avinash Chandra Pal (CEO, DTown Robotics), Mr. Manas Upadhyay (CTO, DTown Robotics), Mr. Sahejeet Singh (Chief R&D), Mr. Ashish Arora (Vice President, Technical Sales, Elcom Innovations), and Mr. Arpit Dubey (Engineer, Elcom Innovations). In a significant announcement for students, DTown Robotics Pvt. Ltd. announced internship opportunities focused on AI/ML applications in drone technology.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Munish Vashishth, Dean, Institutions and Chairperson, Department of Electronics Engineering.
