The program was conducted successfully with active participation from members of the Vasundhara Eco Club and Sanrachna Club, under the guidance of Er. Vivek Rawat, Dr. Anita Girdhar, Er. Yogesh Morya, Dr. Navish Kataria, and Dr. Sandeep Ravish. Overall, the event proved to be highly informative and impactful, fostering awareness, responsibility, and a collective commitment toward sustainable water management among students and participants.

FARIDABAD NEWS 27 MARCH 2026 : GAUTAM : The Department of Environmental Sciences and Department of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with Vasundhara Eco-Club, Sanrachna Club, and Dean Student Welfare, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, successfully organized a two-day event to mark the World Water Day 2026. The theme of the event, “Water and Gender,” aimed to spread awareness about the importance of water conservation and the critical role of gender equality in water management.
Vice Chancellor, J.C. Bose University, Prof. Rajive Kumar appreciated the dedicated efforts for organizing such a meaningful and socially relevant event for enhancing students’ awareness and inspiring them to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. The event was conducted under the guidance and support of Prof. Ajay Ranga, Registrar, Prof. Rajkumar, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Prof. Anuradha Sharma, Dean Faculty of Sciences.
Dr. Renuka Gupta, Chairperson of Department of Environmental Sciences and Department of Civil Engineering, highlighted the significance of World Water Day and motivated students to actively participate in water conservation efforts. Prof. Pradeep Dimri, Dean Student Welfare, thoughtfully elaborated on the theme “Water and Gender.” He emphasized that sustainable water management can only be achieved through inclusive participation, where individuals across all sections of society contribute equally.
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished speakers, including Dr. Jagdeesh Chaudhary, Director of Balaji College of Education, and Sh. Kaushal Kishore, Environmental Activist and Managing Editor.Dr. Jagdeesh Chaudhary delivered an insightful session, presenting unique perspectives on water through simple experiments. He introduced the idea that water possesses emotions, encouraging students to develop a deeper respect for it as a vital resource. He emphasized the need to reduce water wastage, adopt rainwater harvesting practices, and minimize household waste to conserve water resources. His session inspired students to adopt sustainable water management practices in their daily lives.
Sh. Kaushal Kishore addressed pressing concerns related to water contamination and emphasized the importance of awareness and responsible practices to prevent such issues. He highlighted the emotional and ecological significance of rivers and referenced works of renowned authors to broaden perspectives on environmental and social challenges. He also discussed the biomass energy crisis, the importance of sustainable resource management, and the ecological significance of the Aravali Hills.
As part of the celebration, a Poster Making Competition was organized to encourage creative expression on the theme. The First Prize was awarded to Srishti from B.Sc. Mathematics, Second Prize was secured by Chhavi Sharma from BBA, Third Prize was awarded to Sneha Raj from B.Tech Civil and Consolation Prize was presented to Varnika Saini from MBA.
