FARIDABAD 22 AUG 2026 : GAUTAM  : J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, today organised a special lecture by renowned energy educator and environmentalist Prof. Chetan Solanki. The session was convened by “Samarpan – The Technophilia” Club of the University with the objective of promoting awareness and meaningful dialogue on sustainable energy, responsible consumption and environmental consciousness.
The programme was graced by the presence of Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga, along with Prof. Munish Vashishtha, Prof. Atul Mishra and Prof. Ashutosh Dixit, besides various Deans and Chairpersons. Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Pradeep Dimri delivered the opening remarks and set the context for the insightful interaction. Mr. Sachin also accompanied Prof. Chetan Solanki during his visit and the session. The session was coordinated by Dr. Rachna Dhir and Dr. Manju.
The highlight of the programme was Prof. Chetan Solanki’s thought-provoking session on the Finite Energy Movement (FEM). He sensitised the audience to the finite nature of energy resources and emphasised the urgent need to rethink everyday patterns of energy consumption. Through practical examples and an inspiring perspective, he encouraged students and faculty members to become conscious energy users and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Prof. Solanki also led the participants in taking the FEM Pledge for Finite Living, inspiring them to make mindful and responsible choices in their everyday lives. The team accompanying Prof. Solanki also showcased an energy-efficient bus, providing the participants with a practical demonstration of sustainable and responsible mobility.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of faculty members and students, who actively engaged in the interaction and expressed keen interest in the ideas and practices discussed during the programme.
The programme concluded with Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Ahuja, proposing the Vote of Thanks. He expressed gratitude to Prof. Chetan Solanki, the dignitaries, coordinators, faculty members and students for their valuable contribution and enthusiastic participation in the programme.
