FARIDABAD NEWS 22 AUG 2026 : GAUTAM :  The 7th National Social Work Week program (August 15 to 21), organized by the Department of Communication and Media Technology, J.C. Bose University YMCA, for undergraduate and postgraduate Social Work students under the core theme "Strengthening Minds and Strengthening Families," successfully concluded today. The main objectives of these week-long events were to spread awareness about mental health, strengthen family relationships, and highlight the contribution of professional social workers in building society.

Congratulating the team on the successful event, Chairperson of CMT Prof. Pawan Singh encouraged BSW and MSW students to work dedicatedly in the interest of society with a "Nation First" spirit in the future. He shared that the Social Work program began on August 15, on the occasion of the country's 80th Independence Day, through the 'Selfie with National Flag and Family' campaign. This activity fostered a sense of patriotism, social responsibility, and family unity among students and participants. During the week, a special workshop on 'Psychological First Aid and Psychosocial Awareness' was organized on August 17. The key speaker for the session, Himanshu Bhatt Bharadwaj, highlighted practical aspects of providing emotional support in emergency and crisis situations, adopting empathetic behavior, and ensuring timely professional help.

On August 21, a 'Mental Health and Tele-MANAS Awareness Campaign' was conducted on the university campus to dispel social stigma surrounding mental health and motivate people to seek help without hesitation. In the same sequence, a poster and drawing competition was organized, where students conveyed messages of mental well-being and family communication through creative expression. In the valedictory session, Medical Social Welfare Officer Ms. Isha delivered an expert lecture, sharing her insights on the vital role of medical social workers in healthcare services and community development.

Coordinators Assistant Professor Dr. Akhilesh Tripathi and Dr. Narendra Dhull stated that various events were organized under this campaign—including 'Selfie with National Flag and Family' and poster making—promoting patriotism and family values. Through all these activities, students not only got an opportunity to showcase their creativity but also developed sensitivity and a sense of responsibility toward social and mental health issues.
